The post that should have happened days ago
Thursday, January 22nd, 2009I wanted to write this post on Monday and here it is Thursday already. Well needless to say I have been busy. During the day at Image I have been busy making some specialized websites. I created three websites for some of our amazing photographers. Jeff Lendrum, Shane Van Boxtel, and Michael Leschisin. I will be working on a few more sites as well. The other big project we are working on is we are having every employee create a blog. It started as kind of an experiment and it is turning into a really cool thing. For example we have a stylist who is into cooking and does a lot of food styling herself. She is starting to add recipies and some other fun things. You can see Karla’s blog here. In a bit I will post everyones blog. I may even make a drop down menu for it. The other thing that has been keeping me busy at night is Ebay. I have been selling a lot of old gear that I have laying around, part of my decrapification at home.  For those that Ebay, you know sometimes you get questions about what you are selling. I received a question from a gentleman in France needing a copy of the instructions not what I was selling. He offered to pay me for them but, I said no. Instead, I asked for him to send me a print. I need some things on my wall in my office. But all of this has me thinking about web and how it is such an amazing thing. Ten years ago I never would have imagined, I would be having a conversation with anyone half way around the world, let alone receiving a photo from them. I will probably comment more on this in later posts.
I have a parting shot I wanted to share. This is a panorama I created when I was done in South Carolina for my Stepfathers funneral. They have these great, fine establishments called “Waffle House” The photo is of our waitress “Tippy” who was the sweetest woman. This shot was made up of about 8 photos put together. I used a Canon G7 for those interested. It is kind of like a “Where’s Waldo” See how many “Tippys” you can find. If you click on the photo it will take you to Waffle House’s website. There are none in Wisconsin, if we petition maybe they will come this way.
If you would like to see a larger version of this, let me know. I have it in my office and while we are at it we can talk about your wedding as well.
